What is a Certified Nursing Assistant?

The main role of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is to provide direct, hands-on care to patients. They assist patients with activities of daily living (ADL’s) such as bathing, dressing, serving meals, feeding, changing bed linens, restocking of supplies, mobility assistance, turning and repositioning, lifting, obtaining and documentating vital signs, etc… It is important for a person who wants to become a CNA to understand the importance of providing compassionate, quality care and they must enjoy helping others. These are qualities that bring enjoyment and fulfillment as a CNA. CNA’s work under the supervison of a licensed personnel such as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. A Certified Nursing Assistant is the backbone of healthcare!

Is Professional Allied Health an approved Certified Nursing Assistant Training Program?

Yes, Professional Allied Health LLC is approved by the Tennessee Department of Education to operate a Certified Nurse Assistant Program. Approval was granted in November 2021.

What are the requirements to become a CNA?

Must be 16 years of age or older Must pass a Criminal Background Check Must have a negative PPD or Chest X-Ray High School Diploma or GED required Physical exam from a medical professional stating the student is "fit for clinicals" Completed student application Valid State Government Issued photo ID and Social Security Card Applicant cannot be listed on the abuse or sexual registries

Is there a Pre-Entrance Exam required?

No there is not a Pre-Entreance Exam Required

Do I need a High School Diploma or GED to enroll in the CNA Program?

You are required to have a high school diploma or GED.

Do you offer financial aid for the CNA Program?

Professional Allied Health LLC does not offer financial aid however, we partner with local agencies to assist eligible clients. We also offer payment plans to assist students. Click here to see if you qualify for funding.

How old do I have to be to take the CNA Course?

Professional Allied Health LLC requires an individual to be at least 16 years of age or older.

How long is the course?

Our course can be completed in 18 days over a 5 week period.

When do I take the state exam and how much does it cost?

Once a student has completed the course and a Certificate of Completion has been issued, Professional Allied Health LLC will submit your application to test along with the $98 fee (1st attempt only) which is included in your tuition.

Am I guaranteed a job after completion of the course?

Professional Allied Health LLC does not guarantee job placement because it is your responsibility to pass all requirements of the training program. There will be opportunities for you to apply to open positions at the nursing facilities where you complete your clinicals. In addition, job openings throughout the city will be posted on our Social Media sites and job board at the school.

Is the COVID vaccination a mandatory requirement?

The COVID vaccine is not a mandatory requirement to be enrolled however it may be mandatory at certain clinical sites. Professional Allied Health LLC will do everything possible to ensure a safe clinical setting for our students.

Where do CNA’s work?

CNA’s can work in various healthcare settings such as hospitals, long term care facilities, home health care, residential settings, long term acute care hospitals, hospice care, etc…
